## 1. Course content: CC BY-NC-SA 4.0

The lecture slides, speaker notes, interactive slide text, lab text, explainer videos, figures and course pages (everything except the code and third-party files listed below) are licensed under the **Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0)**.

You are free to:
- **Share**: copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- **Adapt**: remix, transform and build upon the material.

## 2. Code: MIT License

The JavaScript, CSS and HTML code that runs the slide viewer, the interactive slides and the labs (the files in `assets/` other than the third-party files below, and the scripts inside `labs/*.html`) is licensed under the MIT License. See `LICENSE-CODE.txt`.

## 3. Third-party components

These are **not** covered by the licenses above. They keep their own licenses, listed in `THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md`:

- IBM Plex Sans and IBM Plex Mono fonts (`assets/fonts/`): SIL Open Font License 1.1.
- qrcode-generator by Kazuhiko Arase (`assets/qrcode.js`): MIT License.
- Feather icons (four icons drawn inline in Lecture 1): MIT License.

## 4. Textbook material

The course follows Behrouz A. Forouzan, *Data Communications and Networking*, 5th edition (McGraw-Hill). Slides that cite the book ("Forouzan, Example…", "Fig. …", "Table …") reproduce or adapt its worked examples, numbers and definitions for teaching, with attribution. That material remains the copyright of its publisher and is **not** licensed by this repository. Anyone reusing the course should check that their use of those parts is permitted where they are.

## 5. No warranty

The material is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. The author has checked the examples carefully, but errors may remain. Corrections are welcome through the repository's issues.
